The Union option creates a new shape based on the merge of two
existing objects, and with the Intersect, you will get a new shape based
on the shared space between two 3D models.
4.6 Spin tool for rounded shapes
For the cases where you need parts of a model to have a perfectly
rounded shape, it will be hard to use only a combination of extrudes and
Subdivision Surfaces. In Blender, we have a tool called Spin that can
help to create perfectly rounded shapes. The Spin works like an extrude
that follows a circular path.
As a result, you get an arch shape for the selected object. Using the
Spin is easy if you follow a few rules to create each shape:
The Spin uses the 3D Cursor as the pivot point for the rotation and
arch center.
